About YouthTICK

Mission
To empower young people with tools, networks and opportunities to shape their own futures and contribute meaningfully to European society.
Vision
A Europe where every young person—regardless of background—has an equal voice, equal opportunity and equal agency to lead change.

TICK was born from a simple but meaningful idea:

Young people should not only adapt to a changing world — they should actively help shape a more sustainable, innovative and connected future.

Founded in Yalova by young people who share a common vision, TICK is an independent youth initiative focused on social innovation, environmental awareness and collective learning.

The name “TICK” represents the values and vision that define who we are and what we aim to build.

T — Toplumsal / Together

TICK believes real progress begins when people come together.

“Toplumsal” represents community, solidarity and active participation. Its English reflection, “Together”, symbolizes collaboration between individuals, cultures and ideas.

For us, no meaningful impact is created alone. Every project, every idea and every opportunity grows through shared effort and collective learning.

I — İnovasyon / Innovation

Innovation is not only about technology. It is about finding better ways to create social value.

“İnovasyon” reflects creativity, initiative and the courage to imagine new possibilities for young people and communities.

Its English equivalent, “Innovation”, carries the same spirit: developing ideas that are sustainable, forward-looking and impactful.

TICK believes young people should not only adapt to change — they should become part of creating it.

C — Çevre / Climate

TICK believes the future of younger generations is directly connected to the future of the planet.

”Çevre” represents environmental awareness, sustainability and responsibility toward nature and society.

Its English reflection, “Climate”, emphasizes climate awareness, ecological thinking and sustainable development.

For TICK, environmental responsibility is not a trend — it is a long-term commitment.

K — Kültür / Knowledge

“Kültür” represents the richness created when people with different experiences come together.

For TICK, culture is not limited to traditions. It also includes: shared experiences, dialogue, learning, collective memory and mutual understanding.

Its English reflection, “Knowledge”, highlights the importance of intellectual growth, education and accessible learning opportunities.

Because sustainable communities are built not only through connection — but also through understanding.

Together for Innovation, Climate & Knowledge

This phrase reflects TICK’s international perspective and long-term vision.

It represents the belief that young people from different backgrounds can collaborate, exchange ideas and create meaningful opportunities together.

Although TICK is not yet a formal association, it is a growing youth community preparing to build long-term projects and international collaborations in the fields of: youth participation, sustainability, entrepreneurship, intercultural dialogue, and social innovation.

Starting from Yalova, TICK aims to connect local potential with international opportunities and become part of a wider European youth ecosystem over time.

Rather than pretending to already be a large institution, TICK embraces its real identity: a young initiative that is still growing, still learning and still building.

Because we believe authenticity creates stronger connections than exaggeration.

Every meaningful journey begins with a small step. Every collaboration begins with a conversation. And every future begins with people willing to act.

That step is TICK.

Six values that drive everything we do.

01
Agency over participation
We design for decision-making power, not just inclusion. Young people shape our programs, not just attend them.
02
Openness as infrastructure
All our methodologies, toolkits and reports are open-source by default. Knowledge should compound, not be hoarded.
03
Impact before optics
We measure outcomes, not outputs. Depth of transformation beats width of reach in everything we do.
04
Cultural humility
International cooperation requires genuine curiosity about other perspectives — not assumptions, not stereotypes.
05
Radical collaboration
The most complex youth challenges require NGOs, governments, startups and universities at the same table.
06
Sustainability at the core
Environmental, social and institutional sustainability isn't a focus area — it's a lens applied to everything we do.
